Credit Score

A credit score, or FICO score, is a stastical program scoring system used by creditors and credit bureaus that compares an individual's credit account information to the profiles of similar consumers. Utilizing information collected from your credit application and your credit report, creditors and credit bureaus calculate and assign a score between a certain value range, usually between 300 and 850, to indicate previous payment history by an individual. These scoring systems award points for every factor that helps predict your creditworthiness, or how likely it is that you will repay a loan.
